EGM agrees to progress with the move of the temporary building. How can you help?

On Sunday we had a terrific turn out from across the Club to hear about the progress made with the temporary building opportunity we have been gifted. The challenges with the site, the costs and implications were presented and the committee were asking for views on whether we progress with the project.

There was overwhelming support to move forward with phase one, which is moving the temporary build from it's current location in Biggleswade to Vandyke School. Laying the foundations for the building, putting it back together and making it water tight.

This is a significant financial commitment for the club as well as a huge responsibility but the committee were delighted with the energy from the members and the number of people coming forward offering to support in someway in the future. This commitment will be essential in order to make progress with Phase Two.

Phase Two will be connecting the building up to services, which we are already aware is going to be challenging from both a logistical perspective as well as a financial. We need to raise funds now in order to achieve phase two.

How can you help?

The facilities team currently consists of Neil Lewington, Arthur Giltrow and Clare Fitzboydon. We need two more members of the team to help us deliver phase two.

We need someone who can work with the team and help manage the logistics and co-ordinate efforts relating to connecting up the facility. Someone who has the time to help bring the relevant volunteers and services together, attend site meetings if needed.

The second volunteer we need is a fundraising co-ordinator. Someone who has experience in managing events, fundraisers, sponsorship and or grant applications. Someone who is well organised and can manage a team who will help with this work.

If you are interested in either of these two roles please contact cfitzboydon@gmail.com.

We appreciate the members who have already said that they have expertise that may help with phase two, for example friends who are plumbers, electricians etc. We will be back in touch soon as we hope to organise a CALL TO ACTION type event when we can communicate what help we need and see who can support.

Thank you

Fitzy
