Leighton buzzard continued their good form with a dominant victory over winless Abingdon at the weekend.

The game started with Leighton on top against some weary defending from the opposition, and eventually got their reward when Stephenson popped up from close range after some great build up play from Hardy and Fry. The domination continued and 5 minutes later Leighton double their lead with more incisive play by the front line finished off expertly by poacher Fry. A battling Abingdon side showed some fight in the second half but their efforts were thwarted by a dominant performance by Franklin and the rest of the defence. Any rare opportunities were easily dealt with by sweeper keeper Alex 'Neuer' White. Ten minutes from time, after several chances were spurned, Leighton put the game beyond all doubt with another well worked move resulting in Stephenson finishing again in similar fashion to his first. Special mention should be given to the defensive organisation and work rate from the whole team who never looked like slipping up. Next week sees Leighton return to Fortress Vandyke where they take on top of the league Oxford Hawks in an attempt to go 5 games unbeaten and send them tumbling off the top spot.
