Leighton Buzzard maintained their winning streak with another win over local rivals Milton Keynes.
This makes it seven wins a row for Leighton as they go into a top of the table clash with current leaders Newbury and Thatcham.
Leighton took an early lead with a sharp, well taken goal from Tristan Hardy rattling the backboard with a thunderous shot. Leighton struggled to find this form again and the visitors pushed Leighton hard. A well worked short corner was upgraded to a penalty flick when Mark Stephenson played the ball onto an MK defenders foot on the goal. With two minutes left on the clock for the half Mortgage Advice Bureau man of the match Nick Marshall converted his penalty flick by playing high into the top left of the goal leaving the Milton Keynes goalkeeper no chance of stopping Leighton going two goals up into half time.
Leighton started the second half brightly and were soon three goals up with David Fry squeezing the ball into the goal. A green card for Leighton skipper Jack Gorton put Leighton under pressure but solid defending from Gordon Brown kept MK at bay. Leighton's fourth goal was scored once again by Fry who was able to pounce on the ball after Marshall's drag flick hit the post. A lapse in concentration and marking allowed Milton Keynes back into the game with some slick passing finding an unmarked forward in D who was able to give Milton Keynes their consolation goal. With the clock ticking down Buzzards were able to make it five with Tommi Lakins expertly topping the ball to confuse the MK keeper and defenders and add further embarrassment to the traveling Milton Keynes side.
Final score LBHC 1s 5 - MK 3s 1
