This week saw Leighton travel to face a Bicester side that they'd beaten in a preseason friendly.
A revamped Leighton side contained some new faces and as Leighton started this caused a lack of cohesion which meant they soon were trailing 3-0. After a poor start Leighton finally began to get a foothold in the game and managed to start playing better hockey. Unfortunately half time arrived before Leighton could find a goal and were now trailing 4-0.
The second half began with Leighton improving further but unfortunately injuries disrupted a potential fight back. Olly Parren sustained a nasty injury which meant he had to leave the field. Leighton kept a clean sheet in the second half which was a positive to take from the match.
All in all this was a bad week for Leighton, David Wavish was a rock in defence and rightly deserved to win the 'Methi Man of the Match' vote.
