Leighton Buzzard 2XI 1- Wallingford 3XI 5
Leighton hoped to bounce back from last weeks defeat but, with numerous changes from last weeks team, it was going to be a tough ask. Despite resolute defending by goalkeeper Jim galloway and defenders Mark Scott, Dave and Josh Wavish they couldnt stem the consistent attacks Wallingford were making and soon found themselves trailing 2-0. However, as the half wore on the team started to put some passes together and were rewarded when some slick interplay led to Will Giltrow slipping the ball to Man of the Match Chris Marshall who took it round the goalkeeper and slotted the ball home. Half time came with Leighton believing they had a chance to recover the game but this was unlikely after straight from the start Wallingford scored again. Wallingford furthered their lead and despite numerous short corners Leighton didn't manage to convert. With the final whistle looming a mix up in the Leighton defence allowed Wallingford to poke the ball home. Next week Leighton travel to unbeaten league leaders eastcote and, with more changes to the team inevitable, it could be a tough task.
