LB men's 2XI v Gerrards Cross 2XI
Before the game started Leighton were told that the opposition were playing with no goalkeeper and with a kicking-back, which meant one of two things, they were good or crazy. However Leighton started the game strongly, with some great short sharp passing, and after 5-10 minutes Ash Barnett pressed the kicking-back into a mistake, tackling him and scoring. 1-0 up and Leighton pushed up for more goals but just couldn't find the final ball into the D.
After the break, Leighton started the half as they finished the last, pressing forward and eventually getting a short corner, the ball was hit in where Wavish senior hit the ball towards Wavish junior, which was coolly despatched, making it 2-0. Leighton continued to push forward leaving gaps where Gerrards Cross broke quickly leading into a couple of short corners, the ball was hit in and after some scrappy defending the opposition finally found the back of the net, 2-1 down Gerrards Cross started to believe they could get something out of the game, so they put the pressure on. Leighton started to tire and the opposition youngsters took full control of midfield, where they managed to find another scrappy goal. Game finished 2-2. Man of the match goes to Craig Westley.
