Leighton travelled away to a Marlow team that seem to play well at home, so Leighton knew they had to take the game to the opposition, so straight from the off man of the match Craig Westley ran straight at the opposition, which caused Marlow to defend quickly, Leighton kept possession, passing the ball around nicely and testing Marlow's defence, but after a loose pass Marlow broke quickly, and within two passes they were in our d, where keeper David Thompson come diving out but to no avail, as the forward tucked it underneath him to score against the run of play.
1-0 down and Leighton continued to push with some great link up play between Westley and Ben Smith, and with those one twos Westley scored, slotting it pass the keeper. 1-1 and Leighton's tails were up and it wasn't long before Leighton scored again in the same scenario but roles reversed, Westley becoming the provider to Smith. 2-1 up and Marlow pushed forward, getting into Leighton's d, where the forward goes to take a big swing only for Oliver Parrren to push the ball away, and unfortunately get hit in the jaw in the process. Half time.
Marlow started the second half strong, but Leighton continued to push high leaving the defence exposed to quick counterattacks, where Marlow quickly took advantage and scored. 2-2 and Leighton didn't learn their lesson, and after another loose pass the opposition broke again to score. 3-2 down and Marlow started controlling the game, and with that Leighton started to get frustrated and loss shape where Marlow scored again. Game finished 4-2.
