Great team performance sees men continue their winning run

Ramgarhia 2XI 0 - 2 LB men's 2XI

Buzzard arrived for their first away league game of the season full of confidence after last week's result, if a little late due to issues on the M25. With no time to warm up there was concern that Buzzard's start might be a little flat; however the opposite was true, as they started quickly. Buzzard moved the ball with precision on a tricky pitch and it wasn't long until they took a deserved lead following a sensational solo goal from Matthew Nash. He picked the ball up in his own half and skipped past defenders like they weren't there and finished with aplomb.

Ramgarhia came into the game; however the defence of Oliver Joy, David Wavish, Will Riley and Daniel Wright held firm, partly due to the deep lying midfielders Tim Bellamy and Methi Man of the Match Martin Bailey making a number of crucial interceptions and snuffing out their playmaker. With the opposition pushing forward Buzzard knew that they could hit them on the break, utilising the movement of David Jackson, Craig Westley and Fraser Retford. However during one such attack Jackson managed to hurt his ankle which limited his mobility for the rest of the game. This did not stop him getting on the scoresheet just before the half time break, as Nash dribbled into the D and fed Jackson who coolly deflected the ball into the bottom corner, after deciding it would be too difficult to move any further.

Half time came with Buzzard full of confidence. But Ramgarhia rung the changes and the three players they bought on looked to dictate play. Buzzard had to soak up a lot of pressure but the defence continued to hold firm, ably supported by Jim Galloway who pulled off a stunning save early in the second half. This was only bettered by the opposition goalkeeper, who somehow managed to get to Retford's shot that came after a fabulous flowing end to end move with the majority of the team involved.

Ramgarhia's tempers started to boil over, with one of the players that had arrived at half time getting frustrated he wasn't getting any change from Bellamy, so decided to square up to him. On the second occasion he did this, it resulted in both players being sin binned. However Buzzard kept their composure and were very professional in seeing out a second half, that felt like it was never going to end. The 2-0 victory will ensure that Buzzard go into next week's top of the table clash at Vandyke against Newbury & Thatcham with confidence to continue their new attractive style of play.
