Leighton came out knowing only a top performance would beat top of the league with a 100% win ratio. Leighton came out of the block quickly, keeping a high press and ensuring reading were given no time on the ball. The first half end 0-0, with no real chances but Leighton on top.
Leighton came out of the blocks quickly in the second half and maintained the pressure they had applied in the first half. Reading were creating little and Leighton's pressure eventually paid off, with David Jackson expertly flicking the ball into the goal after a player had blocked his first shot. Leighton maintained this pressure and were soon rewarding with a second after the young Jack Galloway's brilliant performance resulting in a goal after capitalising on a lack of concentration from the defence by slotting the ball past the keeper after it hit a foot in the D. Leighton held out well and got the result they deserved, with Chris Marshall getting Man of the Match after a dominant performance from start to finish.
