Leighton were looking to bounce back after a loss and a week off after poor weather. They started well with the early pressure resulting in a goal after a David Jackson strike at goal was saved and then scrambled over the line by Steve Fuller. West Hampstead responded well however and two short corners resulted in two quick goals. At the end of the first half a short corner was smashed in by MOM Tim Bellamy to make it 2-2 at the break.
Leighton came out firing in the second half and took the league again early after a strike by Martin Bailey looped off a foot and into the goal. This pressure was maintained and Laurence Leech made the score more comfortable with a strong strike after the keeper had saved another short corner routine. The Leighton defence stayed strong and ensure a good return for winning ways.
