Ramgarhia Slough 6 - 1 Leighton Men's 3

A team that had changed in several key areas from last weeks smashing victory over Maidenhead took to the field with high hopes of repeating that success. For the first ten minutes the game was even with both sides attacking then suddenly the Leighton defence was caught out and the home side took a 1-0 lead. Immediately after the restart Leighton went down the pitch for Dave Hooker to put over a perfect pass for Dan Wright to slot home. The game again was very much even with both sides attacking and having to do some desperate defending. Then towards the end of the first half, following a short corner, the Home side scored a dubious goal to lead 2-1 at half time.

Unfortunately despite an inspiring half time team talk by Vice Captain Dave Hooker the team did not take that onto the field. The quality of Leighton's passing, tackling and marking deteriorated as the match wore on. Despite hard work by the Defence Midfielders ( Marc Scott and Olie Reid) Leighton could not get out of their half and could not stop the wave after wave of Ramgarhia attacks which led to a succession of short corners then to a burst of four goals in quick succession. Not a result the 3s were hoping for.
