Aylesbury 4s 2-2 Leighton Buzzard 3s

Aylesbury started brightly with their speedy youngsters causing problems to the Leighton defence. Keeper, David Thompson was on top form pulling off some amazing saves to keep Aylesbury out. David was finally beaten by a deflected shot that put Aylesbury 1-0 up. This spurred Leighton into action with some good passing around the midifield going from one side to the other and then attacking down the wings. This paid off as Steve Fuller managed to deflect a shot from Simon Childs into the back of the net. The rest of the first half was end to end with the teams going into have time 1-1.

The second half started with Leighton pressing hard to get another goal to no avail. The play went from end to end with both teams having chances and short corners. Aylesbury did eventually convert one of their shorts with the ball unfortunately squeezing under the keeper. Leighton still passed the ball around and continued to press. With time running out Leighton won a short corner. The ball was injected by Stuart Hart to David Hooker who shot towards the far post where Steve Fuller was lurking once again to deflect in his and Leighton's second goal. This was a well worked pre-planned routine. Aylesbury came back strongly trying to win the match but the Leighton defence held firm to the end.

Steve Fuller was voted Man of the Match.
