LBHC Mens 3s 6-0 Ramgarhia Slough 1s

Leighton Buzzard started off brightly against a slightly weakened Ramgarhia side. With some good passing moves Leighton were soon threatening the opposition goal. The Ramgarhia defence held firm but the Leighton forwards managed to keep the ball in the Ramgarhia half for most of the time. Some good work from Dan Lambert and Stuart Hart in the central midfield and attacks down the wings from Ollie Reid and Alex Hewett gave Oli Parren and Tommy Lakins plenty of possession. This led to Tommy's first goal from open play. This was soon followed by a second when Olie Reid pounced on a loose ball on the left side of the 'D' and shot it passed the Ramgarhia keeper. Ramgarhia pushed hard but with most of their attacks came down the middle were stopped by Marc Scott and Chris Walter in central defence. Leighton continued to push and Tommy got his second from a short corner. This was followed soon after by a goal from Craig Westley who had come on as a substitute for Oli Parren. Craig was at a narrow angle on the right and his sliced shot flew in to the back of the net between the near post and the back of the back of the keeper's legs.

The second half started with Ramgarhia putting the Leighton defence under a lot of pressure. Chris Walter and Marc Scott still held it together in central defence with Pete Marshall and Andy Barton covering the outside runners. When Ramgarhia did break through the keeper, Dan Metcalfe, was there to stop the ball going into the back of the net. Leighton slowly got back on top and put pressure back on Ramgarhia. This pressure and some good passing moves led to two more goals, both scored by Dan Lambert. The game became more open and Ramgarhia forced a few short corners in the second half. These were easily dealt with and were turned into Leighton attacks.
