The ladies twos took a third league win at home against Chiltern. The match started with end to end hockey, both teams working into the D but neither able to break the deadlock. Leighton fought hard to break through Chiltern's defence, finally catching them on a break, working the ball up the right wing before crossing for Kayleigh Pottage to guide it onto the backboard. Before half time, Leighton were unlucky to fall foul of the umpire, with Katie Jackson gaining a green card, before Chiltern also lost a player for releasing their stick. The second half saw Leighton press hard, passing around the Chiltern defence to allow a cross from the left to be scored by Siobhan Hennessey. Player of the match Jackson then scored a trademark short corner to make it 3-0, before Chiltern won and scored a short of their own against the run of play. Leighton bounced back, with Lucie Webster finding the backboard. A final minute green card for Webster did not dampen spirits, or threaten the scoreline, and the 4-1 win means the ladies 2s remain top of the league.
