Ladies 2s take another home win

The ladies twos remain top of the league with a 3-0 win over Rickmansworth at home. Starting strongly, they battled hard to push into the D and saw some chances put wide. A short corner won in the 10th minute was kicked off the line by the Rickmansworth defence, resulting in a penalty stroke which was calmly scored by player of the match Katie Jackson. The play resumed with end to end hockey, and although Leighton remained on top the first half finished at 1-0. The second half saw more great work, Leighton's defence and keeper working to keep Rickmansworth at bay, whilst the mids and forwards kept the pressure on up front. Another short illegally stopped on the line by a Rickmansworth player led to a second penalty stroke, Jackson putting this one the other side of the keeper to make it 2-0. With 9 minutes to go, Leighton made it 3-0 with a goal slapped home by Siobhan Hennessey. The ladies twos remain unbeaten and incredibly smiley going into next weeks match with Berkhamstead and Hemel.
