Leighton looked to go out strong for another win following the success against Saffron Walden the week before, hosting Tring at home for the first time this season.
The home team started well, putting pressure on the visitors, breaking up their play with good defensive cover. The first half gave both teams chances on goal, with Leighton attacking well and driving the ball into the opposition's D on several occasions.
Strong defence work by Leighton kept play away from the home goal and ensured no goals were conceded. At half time the score remained at 0-0.
Leighton started the second half with a quick attack on the opposition's half, and continued to make attempts on goal. A short corner for Leighton provided an opportunity that was narrowly missed.
An impressive run from Leighton's defender, Caroline Hill, saw her fend off the Tring forwards and mid-field players, giving the home team a great chance in the opposition's goal.
By full time both teams had fought hard and the score remained at 0-0. Man of the match was deservedly awarded to Caroline Hill.
Next week Leighton face Letchworth away, where they will be going out strong for a win.
