Leighton Buzzard Ladies Third XI travelled to Letchworth where they played their ladies third XI.
A good start for Leighton saw them defend well and break-up the Letchworth play, taking possession and making ground into the opposition's half.
A short corner for Letchworth in the first half provided the home team with an opportunity on goal, which unfortunately for Leighton came off, with a thunderous shot that was impossible to stop. Leighton came back from the opposition's goal with a quick take from the half way line , leading a strong central run , fending off the Letchworth defence.
At half-time the score favoured the home team, 1-0 to Letchworth.
Going in to the second half, Leighton demonstrated quick passes around giving them strong possession of the ball. With Letchworth regaining possession of the ball, regrettably a surprise arial shot from The home team saw them sneak the ball in past the post, putting them two goals ahead of Leighton.
Despite a good effort and several opportunities from the away team, the final score was 2-0 to Letchworth.
Leighton's man of the match was deservedly awarded to Becca Smith, for her strong runs on the left wing and for unrelenting marking of Letchworth players.
Next week Leighton face Broxbourne Third XI at home.
