Ladies Fledglings

Leighton Buzzard 4’s had a good week at home this Saturday, winning 6-1 against Stevenage 6’s. The majority of the game was played in their opponent’s half with LB making lots of shots. The 6 goals were scored by Ella Keenagh (2), Judith Parrott, Katie Jackson, Rachael Drohan and Kelly Pratt. Kelly won man of the match due to her determination; tackling hard, making good runs and not giving up, as well as scoring a goal. The game started well, with a quick goal from LB. Our defense got a bit bored during the 1st half of the game, with little pressure placed on them. There was good passing in the midfield and most breaks into Leighton Buzzard half were met high up by defense, intercepting the ball early. Judith scored a lovely goal after 2 quick passes from Katie, to Ella and then to Judith who hit it in from the post. Rachael, right midfield, made a clean shot on target from top D. Unfortunately in the 2nd half a Stevenage player managed to break through the LB midfield and defense and make a shot from top D. Luckily this was their only opportunity and LB went home with the win.
