Disappointing result for Mens 3s, away at Windsor. In a stereotypical game of two halves Leighton took the lead in the first half with a Peter Gale strike on the reverse. With joint player of the match, Tom Handley enjoying success down the right and other player of the match Jim Galloway in commanding form, Leighton could easily have had more before the break. Jason Thelwell in particular unlucky not to score on his debut for the 3s.
Half-time changed the game and Leighton struggled to find their passes in the second half. Windsor scored three in the first ten minutes and took the game away from the visitors. Chris Bourne's diving effort was cleared from near the line (Was it over ? The umpires said not.) And that was Leighton's last significant chance. Windsor wrapped up the game and the points with a late fourth. With two games next weekend we need a change of luck to bag a win and get back on track.
