Leighton Buzzard conceded an early goal from a surprising quick attack in the first 5 minutes, however they quickly went back on the offensive securing a short corner. This did not run to one of the threes normal highly practised routines with Dave Wavish taking the initial strike, the rebound was picked up though and Dan Lambert slotted it in to make it 1-1. Following a period of end to end hockey with some fine defensive work from LB with Grant and Dave Hooker picking up many attacking players, Leighton managed to pick up another goal on the break making it 2-1. It should have been more though with Leighton winning a number of short corners, which the opposition keeper managed to keep out. This spurred the opposition on who managed to score following an unlucky ball under the keeper to a fortunately positioned player who brought the game to 2-2. Despite a number of further opportunities Leighton were unable to secure a winner and were fortunate with a draw with the opposition winning a short corner in the final seconds, which they were unable to convert.
