Leighton earn a draw against a strong Letchworth team

Leighton Buzzard 2-2 Letchworth

Leighton were slow to settle from the push back and this gave Letchworth an early advantage. The pressure mounted on Leighton and it was little surprise that the visitors look the lead, scoring a goal in the first ten minutes!! Leighton then started to compose themselves and began passing the ball confidently out of the defence and around the back by Ellen, Tara and Jemima. They utilised the space that was created by the wing backs Emily D and Emily S playing it down the line to get the forwards in the game.

There was still some need for defensive play with Jo making some superb saves in the D and Llinos battling hard with strong tackles and great passing through the midfield.

Chrissie, Anna and Mel worked the midfield hard, frustrating the opposition. Leighton worked the ball in to the D where Sarah score a corker on her reverse stick before half time!

A frustrated Letchworth came out hard putting pressure on which resulted in a goal and putting them ahead. Leighton reacted and worked the ball down the pitch into the D for a flick! Katie stepped up with her 100% track record she made it look easy putting it to the right of the keeper to make it 2 all!

It was a real TEAM effort with everyone playing hard and playing for each other to secure the draw.
