The team is made-up of primarily Fledglings and U16 players, supported by one or two adult players. Having started their league campaign back in May, they played ten games in the Development League, finishing second with a very creditable record of:

Across the season, thirty Leighton Buzzard players were involved, with one guest appearance in goal. We had nine different goal scorers. Freddie Brazier was top scorer for the team with nine league goals, which also saw him become the top scorer in the Milton Keynes Summer League. Special mention also to Amy Bridgen who played in every game.

The biggest achievement though, was “the overall”; it was the way in which the team played and how the squad worked together and developed. Everyone played for each other, everyone doing their job, so that the performances led to the results.

THE FINAL

In terms of results the team had one last success following the league programme.

Second place had qualified them for a final game against table toppers MK sharks. The (BLOOMING) TEAM MARVEL players saved their best performance for the last game. An early goal from Freddie Brazier proved enough for a 1-0 victory in the final.

This put the icing on the hockey cake !
