Leighton faced a clinical London outfit in an open ended affair. Straight from push back Leighton attacked the space down the wings and put pressure on Hampstead's goal. The away team were unlucky to not convert one of their chances in front of goal; Henry Silva came the closest but was denied by the post. The game continued in an end to end fashion, however, Hampstead were more composed in front of goal, and lead at the break. Unsympathetic passing left Leighton vulnerable at the back, and lead to an increased deficit of 5 goals to nil. Leighton finally began to pick themselves up after a re-shuffle at the back due to an injury. Hugh Britt made it 5-1 when he connected with a powerful shot from Nick Marshall. Nick then went on to score an inch-perfect drag flick, which had nestled in the top left corner before Hampstead had even left their goal line. The opposition scored one last goal before the final whistle. Score line aside, Leighton will be able to take positives from their performance away from home.
