Leighton Buzzard 2XI (6) v OMT 3XI(1)
After last weeks defeat against top of the league Leighton hosted OMT needing 3 points in their relegation battle.
After a delayed start Leighton started brightly and were rewarded with 3 goals in very quick succession. These were converted by Chris Marshall, David Wavish and Tim Bellamy. Unfortunately OMT scored a goal from a short corner which came against the run of play. Leighton soon extended their lead with David Jackson scoring.
The second half continued in similar fashion with Leighton playing attractive hockey dominating play. Two further goals were scored by Matt Nash and Tim Bellamy.
The only dampener on a very convincing game was an injury to an opposition player who suffered suspected concision after a 50-50 challenge with Marc Scott. The decision. Was taken to finish the game early with only 2 minute remaining to allow the OMT player to receive medical treatment.
MOM was awarded to David Wavish for his composed display in the heart of defence.
