Leighton traveled to Wallingford, a team just below them in the league, hoping to build on the good team performance from the previous week. However, the unaccustomed early meet of 8:30, gave the impression that half the team were still asleep as the leighton midfield seemed to be bypassed at will and the defence overrun. Matters weren't helped with an early head injury to Craig Westley, resulting in a trip to A&E, and David Wavish being show a green card meaning at half time leighton trailed 4-0 against a team that was not recognisable in any way from the team leighton had played earlier in the season. Harsh truths and smelling salts seemed to wake leighton up for the 2nd half and started to move the ball around and put pressure on the opposition. Eventually leighton got some reward from a short corner which David Jackson pushed out to Canty who somehow managed to slot the ball away to restore a bit of pride. Wallingford soon replied with a goal of their own from a short corner but leighton kept pushing and, with the last play of the game, won another short corner. Unfortunately this resulted in another head injury, this time for Tim "glass" Bellamy, who went to join Westley in A&E. Mom David Canty
