The Buzzards had lots to prove coming from a 7-3 hammering by the top of the week last Saturday, but that's precisely what they set out to do. The men in yellow settled in quickly to the game showing good pacing and movement initiative. They were soon rewarded through good wide movement and a ball inside to Matthew Nash who was able to convert to a 1-0 lead. Marlow tried to fight back through the middle, but solid effort in our own half saw the majority of attacks break down. The Buzzards kept coming through all of this and good use of the width kept putting them in the right places through Craig Westley and Fraser Retford creating a second for Nash who converted comfortably.
Marlow had a few good opportunities however, debutant Dan Metcalfe was able to deny them any satisfaction. Craig Westley was able to see the boys home safely in the 2nd half following an entirely believable dummy on the reverse before deftly slotting it home on his strong stick to make it 3-0.
A much more confident display from the 2nd XI who clearly have a lot more to give in the future. Next week sees them travel to Gerrards Cross to face off against the 2nd in the league.
