Leighton Mens 2s were home against top of the table - Marlow. From the start Marlow were pushed back and Leighton were quick to steal possession. They played good hockey and with a few one-twos Steve Fuller managed to sneak the ball into the goal. Leighton continued to play well and Damian Glendenning soon got on the score sheet to put Buzzard 2-0 up. Marlow were getting frustrated and were awarded numerous cards and were launching aerials up the pitch in an attempt to find an all important goal; however Leighton weren’t phased by this and David Jackson quickly made the scoreline 3-0 by half time. As the whistle went again, Marlow appeared stronger. But Buzzard weren’t prepared to lose their lead, as Jackson took the ball around the defenders once more and found the backboard! As the end of the match drew closer, Finley Bell-Taylor received a green for hitting the ball away. Leighton managed to keep their composure for the rest of the game and the score was 4-0 as the final whistle blew. It was a great result for Leighton putting them 2 points off the top! Man of the match: Damian Glendenning
