Leighton came in to the game with a great win from their opening game, with some players missing, there was game time for George Hoskin, Benji Robinson and Laurence Leech.
Leighton were class through the middle of the park stopping anything coming through. Solid tackles from the back 4 and MOM Bellamy in the pivot role stopping any Eastcote attack before it got within shooting range of Galloways goal who touched the ball twice all game!
Leighton had numerous chances in the first half with Dave Jackson deflecting over from a short corner and George going close with a top corner flick pushed away by the keeper.
Second half and still nothing reached the leighton goal and swift flowing attack resulted in Robinson cracking one home from the top of the circle. With 10 to go Eastcote pressed Buzzard towards their own goal. The Eastcote striker beat 2 Leighton players before Dan Wright faced up to the goal bound shot and took a cannon of strike to the mouth after slipping whilst reaching to block the shot, this meant he missed the rest of the action due a serious face injury, and Buzzards a centre back down.
Despite being 1 down and now a bare 11 Leighton pushed to seal the game with 30 seconds left they won a penalty corner stuck well by Bellamy with Steve ‘roadrunner’ Fuller deflecting top corner to make it 2-0. Leighton 2 from 2 in the new division after being promoted.
