A match against a strong A&C team with some fast young players, started well for Leighton with Dan Lambert picking up a pass from midfield to open the scoring within two minutes of the start. This led to a period of intense Leighton pressure which ended with Tom Lakins scoring his first of the game. However from the restart A& C seemed to find their rhythm and they launched a series of attacks which put the Leighton goal under pressure. With an injury to a Leighton player the team found themselves down to the bare 11 and needing to make adjustments to their formation. Before this could bed in A&C scored. Again they pressed but on a rare breakaway Alex Brindle scored to take the score to 3-1 but A&C were not finished and following a breakaway, which left the Leighton Keeper stranded, they scored a second just before half time.
The second half resumed with A&C putting pressure on the Leighton goal however the Leighton Midfield gradually managed to get control with Tom Lakins scoring his second and then his third taking the score line to 5-2. A&C were still not finished and score from a short corner . However these attack grew fewer and Leighton applied more pressure from midfield with further goals coming from both Tom Lakins and Stuart Hart.
