Dennis the Menace interrupts Mighty 3's Match report by Oliver Parren

The day started off with some trepidation as a number of games were being called off due to the high winds and rain brought by the second storm in the UK in as many weeks. Undeterred, the Mighty 3's made their way down to North London to face a side that they narrowly lost to in the reverse fixture. With a few missing regulars including the absence of George "Saved a flick" Hoskins in goal, the team had some new faces to keep the Mighty 3's up and running including David Thompson fending the nets and Nathaniel up front to try and resolve the goal drought.

After a fairly slow start and some initial pressure from West Hampstead, the back line of James, Chris and Wav kept things fairly quiet at the back. As Leighton found their feet, both teams cancelled each other out leaving a handful of chances and little to write about in the first half. However, with less than 5 to go in the half, West Hampstead made the break and put a well worked goal away to go into half time one up.

With little to pick up on what went wrong from the first half, Leighton came out eager to get back into the game. Unfortunately for the Buzzards, WH made the better start and the most of a fairly innocuous break to put their second past the stand-in GK. A little disheartened but still fighting, the battle ensued. Despite some notable performances by the midfields of Jason, Hooker, Stu, Dom and Kane, the midfield were unable to capitalise on possession. A few stray passes and unlucky breaks falling to WH started to get to the Mighty 3's and the frustration was starting to show when WH rubbed salt in the wounds with a break through the back line to find one of their strikers with too much time in the D. At 3-0 down, the game was starting to slip away from the Mighty 3's. With not much falling to the forwards, the chance of a comeback was slipping away. Regardless, Leighton continued to push and try as best they could to bring the game back to a respectable, and deserved scoreline. As they pushed, WH broke the defence again and put away another arguably soft goal away.

In a mostly well mannered game, the Mighty 3's found the 4-0 scoreline a hard one to swallow. Whilst not deserved of the win, there was maybe one or two goals in it at most.

In summary, just one week after Ciara caused havoc across the UK, Dennis the Menace hit the shores to disrupt the UK... and it certainly hit NW2 as the Mighty 3's crashed at West Hampstead.
