Mighty 3's overcome by an extremely questionable South Berks 4's.

LB welcomed back skipper Oli Parren and with most of their regular squad available arrived at Cantley Park in good spirits and looking forward to a competitive match.

Things started evenly with LB making some good thrusts down the left hand side. Stu Taylor was as industrious as ever and looking to feed Nathaniel Lacey who was making good runs into the open spaces on the left wing.

Dom Thelwell continued to control the central midfield area for LB and Kane Sanders was also making runs and looking dangerous. Although they could not deliver the final killer ball into the D, LB won a short corner early on. Dan Lambert showed sharp reactions by being the quickest to reach a rebound and score with a cool finish.

South Berks responded and shortly after scored following a quick break away. A second goal followed shortly after. Despite Chris Walter intercepting a dangerous cross the ball fell kindly to a SB forward who finished with aplomb and giving Dave Thompson in goal no chance. As ever Dave Wavish led the defensive line breaking up play regularly but following another incisive SB attack an unfortunate decision went against him in the D and resulted in SB scoring from a penalty flick.

LB went into half time 3-1 down and well aware by now that they were up against a surprisingly strong SB attack.

Sadly LB lost Dave Wavish to injury early in the second half which saw Jason Thelwell step into the centre of defence but despite some heroic defending LB conceded 4 more goals in the second half.

Late on the Gregorys showed some brotherly love after James linked with Howard who coolly slotted away a late consolation goal.

Despite the disappointing result the luxury of hot showers and cooked teas soon restored the usual LB positive spirit and the team left looking forward to the final two matches little knowing that the world was about to change.

MOM a well deserved Nathaniel Lacey.
