Leighton Buzzard Ladies 1st XI played their first league game home fixture on Saturday in the Five Counties Premier Division.
The team had a full squad and being such a warm day swift rotations were certainly required. One objective for the team was to improve on their short corner conversion rate and this started really well, with the first corner resulting in a goal from Hollie Taylor.
Stevenage didn’t really get going as Leighton Buzzard put them under continuous pressure, pressing them really well leaving Stevenage with limited options. The ladies fitness seemed to hold and the whole squad countinued to play at 100 percent for 70 minutes, which secured the teams first win of the season.
Goal scorers, Hollie Taylor 4, Charlotte Ashton 1 and Gabbie Avola 1.
The team face play away next week and with reduced numbers due to unavailability the first team are hoping that the other teams in the ladies section can support the 1st XI and add to the squad to ensure a quality game against Broxbourne.
