Plummer past the post again

Leighton Buzzard Ladies 1st XI played Shefford and Sandy 1's bright and early on Saturday. The team knew that it would be a tough game against top of the table but the girls knew the tactics needed and they played these tactics perfectly.

Unfortunately the opposition were gifted and early lead and from this point they put the Leighton Buzzard defence under real pressure. It was really difficult to get the ball out from the back but Anna Carter kept the communication and encouragement forthcoming to keep the girls in with a chance.

A patient midfield waited for the opposition to make mistakes and the tactics were paying off.

A ball from the defence enabled Leighton Buzzard to break and Sarah Plummer scored to take the game to 1-1.

Unfortunately the girls were faced with a team maximising the home advantage and important decisions did not go in Leighton Buzzards favour.

The final result was 2-1 to Shefford and Sandy when a draw would have been a fair result. Player of the match Clare Fitzboydon.
