Ladies 1st XI 3-0 v Bedford 3's

Leighton buzzard ladies first team were away at Bedford today determined to get a win. The game started off even with both teams having a attacking play. Leighton buzzard began to control the game and put the pressure on Bedford. A solid pass up the wing to Gabbie Avola allowed her to take the ball into the D and skilfully move the ball around the keeper to push the ball into the goal to make it a 1-0 lead. Leighton buzzard continued the first half with numerous chances and eventually won a short corner. A well routined short corner that was passed back to the injector allowed Gabbie to put the score up to 2-0 by pushing over the line.
The ladies went into the second half with their heads held high and determined to keep a clean sheet. Bedford did not give up and had some attacking opportunities. However Leighton buzzard remained strong and had strong attacking play which lead to Kirsty Scrivener hitting the ball passed the keeper into the goal, making the final score 3-0.
Player of the match went to Gabbie Avola who made amazing runs and scored 2 deserved goals.
