Ladies 1s travelled away to St Albans knowing it would be a tough game with only 13 players this week. The first 10 minutes of the game was a little wobbly for Leighton and St Albans capitalised on mistakes made, scoring two goals.
However, Leighton came back strong playing some beautiful hockey. The defense played a decisive ball forward which resulted in a lovely piece of combination play between Sarah Plummer and Riley Maze-Brown under 16 and under 14 respectively, the squads youngest players.
In the second half Leighton started off very strong and were unfortunate to lose possession with some difficult situations at the back which resulted in a 3rd goal to St Albans. Leighton Buzzard continued to push forward gaining some short corners and Kirsty Scrivener converted one of these to get her name on the score sheet. Both sides battled hard and on the final whistle the game finishing up 3-2 to St Albans 4’s. MOM- Riley Maze-Brown
