big win

With a strong squad this week the ladies 1' took on Hertford. Threatening from the off putting pressure on their defence but not quite finding the back of the net.
Hereford defence were out quickly on us on short corners but the Leighton side adapted and worked the ball around only to have a shot on goal stopped on the line....penalty flick awards and brilliantly converted by Clare Fitzboydon.

Hertford fought back and the pace was fast. They took advantage of gaps we left and worked a goal back.

Leighton found their form again and we made some great moves passing up the right hand side with Gemma Jones, Kathy Connolly, Kirsty Scrivener and Katie Jackson.
The hard work paid off and we got a 2nd goal which was a top of the circle strike by Gabbie Avola which hit the back of the net like a rocket.

Natalie Walter was released from the back and had a run out in sweeper appearing in the attacking dee getting some great balls through. A lovely cross into the circle gave laura Keable a great shot on goal was unfortunately saved by the keeper.
