L1’s vs Welwyn

Top of the table clash : Puritysponsored top of the league Leighton Ladies 1 st team were away to second in the league Welwyn this week. Leighton were determined and started strong. Great effort and strong linking play throughout the team saw Leighton rewarded with two goals in the first half from Hollie Taylor and Katie Jackson.
Welwyn came back with aggression after half time and scored early on to bring the score 2-1. Leighton continued to defend with outstanding play from their goalie to keep the match in leighton's favour. Continued pressure from Welwyn and Leighton going down to 10 players resulted in a further goal from Welwyn. The match finishing 2-2. A great team effort against a tough opposition. Purity player of the match unanimously went to goal keeper Rachael Kinchett.
