Leighton buzzard ladies 1s started the first away game at Lee Valley Olmypic park against East London hockey club. The pressure was on to retain the win the ladies achieved last season and it was always going to be a challenging one. Leighton ladies started the game under attack with east london increasing the pressure, which lead to there first goal. Leighton continued to soak up the pressure by defending 7 short corners in the first half. East London continued to press hard and scored a further 3 goals making the half time score 4-0 East London.
Leighton Buzzard started the second half strong as they made the first initial attack on East London's goal. However Leighton were caught on the counter and East London scored another goal. Leighton buzzard didn't give up and countered on East london with a brilliant pass by Kirstie Scrivner to Hollie Taylor who smashed it into the bottom corner making the score 5-1 East London.
Leighton Buzzard continued to concede defensive short corners however these were all defended consistently well by Kirstie Scrivner, Natalie Walter, Clare Fitzboydon, Laura Keable and Asta Kazlauskaite ( Top effort girls !!) 10 out of 11 successfully defended !! East London continued to mount the pressure and scored a further goal making the end score line 6-1.
