Leighton Buzzard Ladies 1st Team vs Oxford Uni 2s

After weeks of gorgeous sunshine it was back to normal for hockey, rain! Leighton travelled to Oxford for the second league game of the season. Both teams started well creating chances, both defences stayed strong and kept the goals out. Karmel and Gabbie had a good couple of shots against oxfords goalkeeper who made some amazing saves. Just before half time Oxford uni scored a goal making it 1-0.

The second half started with Oxford putting the pressure on to try and get a second goal. Leighton stayed strong and kept them out. A few counter attacked from Leighton with a ball hitting the post and one going slightly wide of the goal it felt like it wasn’t Leighton’s day. Both teams kept pushing for the next goal but the game ended with just the one goal.
