Leighton Ladies welcome Reading 3s on another crisp, sunny Saturday. Reading winning the toss giving them first push back and from the whistle Leighton applied the pressure. Both teams evenly matched in the first 15 minutes meant for some well-played hockey from both teams.
Leighton having had one short corner and a handful of chances the score line remained goal less until Reading played some nice two touch hockey in the D until they finally found the goal. Not long till half time Leighton found themselves defending a succession of short corners until a strike from Reading finds a Leighton foot on the line, resulting in Reading being awarded and converting a flick. Half time score Leighton 0, Reading 2.

Second half, Leighton now playing away from the sun. some good hockey played from both teams for first 25 minutes but neither teams able to convert from open play or corners, leaving them evenly matched again. Leighton find themselves defending another short corner. Reading slipped the ball right and getting a good strike off the ball found a Leighton foot on the line again. Reading step up to take another flick, Leighton’s keeper so nearly denying Reading their third goal but unfortunately after a another well taken flick Reading find the net.

Although Leighton continued to battle on till the whistle, they failed to find the net themselves and the final score being 0-3 to Reading
