Leighton Buzzard Ladies 1st Team vs Aylesbury 1st Team

The first XI didn’t have far to travel for their fixture and were facing local opposition, Aylesbury. The team were all keen to step up in the absence of three players who were out with COVID so they welcomed two new players to the side Rhianna and Aida. As predicted they settled in brilliantly and Aida was solid in her tackling throughout the game, so well done Aida.

Unfortunately Aylesbury scored quite a soft goal early doors but our versatile Charlotte, ably assisted by Gemma Jones, popped the ball in the back of the net. Not content with scoring, Charlotte could also be found clearing a ball off the line, dedicated to the cause. Scriv could also be found diving around up front so we certainly tried our best. We were awarded a penalty flick and Gabbie confidently stepped up and converted – Boom!

It wasn’t the teams best performance but no-one stopped trying, which is commendable.

The final score was 3-2 to Aylesbury and our MoM was Megan Claggett
