Leighton Buzzard Ladies 1st Team vs Phoenix & Ranelagh 1st Team

A glorious sunny March Saturday saw Leighton Buzzard Ladies 1s vs Phoenix & Ranelagh 1s. Leighton started strong having a couple of chance but couldn’t find the back of the goal.

Phoenix & Ranelagh we’re pushing hard towards the end of the first half having a shot at Asta who made the save but unfortunately they got the rebound and slotted the ball away on the back post to go 1-0 up. The second half Leighton dominated, having chance after chance and putting Phoenix & Ranelaghs defence under pressure, but once again struggled to convert their chances.

Phoenix & Ranelagh won a short corner which they scored making it 2-0. Leighton fought to the very end and finally found the goal with Gabbie working the ball round the keeper to make it 2-1. Leighton didn’t stop there and got a short corner on the final whistle, the crowd were Silent whilst the short corner was taken. Laura B pushed the ball to Karmel at the top of the D, who slipped it to Gabbie for a strike on goal, as the shot came in Charlotte A got a touch to deflect it into the back of the goal. A man of the match winning goal. Final score 2-2.
