Pre season continues with a tough game against Tring

With more new players coming into the team there was always a chance that, against better opposition, the ladies seconds might not match last week's performance.

The first half was close fought but turned in the last minute when Tring won possession and scored from close in.

Leighton built momentum and fought throughout the second half but in their determination to get the ball forward didn't keep possession consistently. With ten minutes to go Tring scored two quick goals, the first following a superb aerial.

Leighton upped intensity and threatened the Tring D but couldn't quite get the goal that their efforts merited. Well done Tring, deserved winners today.

However, Leighton know that they will improve and close the gap on higher placed teams. There were many strong individual performances: Neve Cox played with composure in different positions, Anna Carter's drive and energy will be a great asset this season and both Tara Galloway and Olivia Pirnie gave 100% to the team even when asked to play unfamiliar positions.

So while the result was a little disappointing the team is still progressing.
