Leighton Buzzard ladies 2s put in a fantastic second half performance to beat Aylesbury 2s 6-2. Leighton Buzzard started the stronger of the two teams pushing forward and creating a few early opportunities. The deadlock was broken when Katie Jackson found Lucie Webster at the back post who slotted the ball home. The goal in many ways worked to Leighton disadvantage as Aylesbury pushed to get back into the game. Aylesbury seemed to find space and stretch Leighton and the momentum of the game switched. Two goals in quick succession put them 2-1 up going into the break. After some strong tactical words from player coach Kyrsty Hardy, Leighton came out revitalised. Leighton pushed forward, switching the play and using the space out wide creating numerous chances before Siobhan Hennessy equalised the game at 2-2. Leighton continued to dominate and took the lead when Gemma Jones took on half the Aylesbury team before slotting the ball home. Leighton went from strength to strength and furthered their lead when Sharon Avola got the reward for her hard work and found the back of the net. Further goals from Clare Farrow and Sarah Ayres completed a great display from Leighton who continue their good form to remain 2nd in the league
